Engineered Software Announces New Flow of Fluids Website with Online Calculators
LACEY,
Washington—October 27, 2009—Flow of Fluids, an
Engineered Software
Business, has released a completely new website with free online
engineering calculator tools. The
www.flowoffluids.com
website has been revamped to coincide with the upcoming release
of a new edition of the Crane Technical Paper No. 410 (TP410).
In all, seven new
engineering calculators are now available with additional
calculators planned in the immediate future.
"This website is the perfect companion to the TP410," said
Ray Hardee,
P.E., Chief Engineer at Engineered Software, Inc. "We
have been planning to provide a tool like this to our software
customers for use online, particularly for quick calculations of
complex theories, like
Head Loss or
Pump Power. Both the new website calculators and the
Flow of
Fluids software are based on the theories and equations in
the Technical Paper 410, so they are a perfect companion to the
new edition of the book."
Interest in the online calculators has already seen a spike
with the unveiling of the website at the Valve World Asia 2009
Conference in Suzhou, China, where representatives from both
Engineered Software and Crane Co. met with the public this past
week.
A tour of the new website and online tools reveal references
to pages in the TP-410, the book the equations are based on, as
well as handy links to user preference page. The preference page
is accessible only by logging in by creating a new login or
using their previous login from either the
Engineered Software
website or previous Flow of fluids website. User preferences
allow users to be alerted to updates to the calculator list and
any possible Errata made to the TP410, in addition to other
news.
"The plan is that this new remodeled website will be a
reference tool that people will want to come back to and use on
a regular basis," said
Michael
Blondin, Chief Operating Officer at Engineered Software,
Inc. "Our intent was that a person would use the website to make
the calculations that they found in their copy of the TP410, and
have your own customized results every time. We also understand
that some of our Flow of Fluids software users do not always
have access to their software license, and this gives them a way
to make a quick, accurate calculation that they have come to
expect from their Flow of Fluids software."
New
Calculators include, flow through orifices and nozzles, pump
power, gas volume density and more. The Head Loss calculator
allow visitors to the site to determine Head Loss in a pipeline
while computing Reynolds Numbers, friction factors and pressure
drop through the pipe. Provided is a calculator that converts
between the Resistance Coefficient into either the US Flow
Coefficient or the Metric Coefficient. The new website is also
equipped with a Unit Converter calculator, that converts results
for Dynamic Viscosity, Flow Coefficient, Length, Mass, Mass
Density, Mass Flow, Power, Pressure, Specific Gas Constant,
Specific Volume, Temperature, Volumetric Flow or Volume.
New Calculators Available
Pipeline Head Loss
Resistance Coefficient (K), US Flow Coefficient (Cv) or metric
Flow Coefficient (Kv) Conversion
Flow Through Orifices
Flow Through Nozzles
Pump Power
Gas Volume & Density
Unit Converters
