ESI to Present At Chem Show’s Educational Conference
Engineered Software, Inc. has been granted a speaking spot at this
year’s Chem Show Education Conference. Presenting the White Paper, “Using
a Piping System Model for Process Safety Management,” will be our
Chief Engineer, Ray Hardee P.E.
The 52nd Chem Show will be held in New York City’s Javits Center from
October 30 to November 1, 2007, and the presentation will be on
Thursday, November 1 at 2:00 p.m. ESI will also be exhibiting our
full product line at Booth 1341. If you are interested in coming
to the show, we have free VIP passes available, a $20 dollar value. The

The MKS Fluids Compilation is detailed physical property data for
over 700 process chemicals and industrial fluids for use by the
PIPE-FLO and Flow of Fluids programs. The Fluids Compilation ships
free of charge with the PIPE-FLO Professional and Flow of Fluids
programs.

Improving the Presentation Quality of the FLO-Sheet
The
FLO-Sheet is a piping schematic drawing showing how the pumps, tanks,
components, controls, and interconnecting pipelines make up the piping
system. PIPE-FLO 2007 includes many new features to increase the
presentation value of the FLO-Sheet. Some of the suggestions that will
increase the value and improve presentation are outlined below.
The FLO-Sheet looks like a flow diagram or Piping & Instrumentation
Drawing (P&ID) typically used to describe piping systems.
The primary FLO-Sheet attributes include the ability to:

Maintain the look of a P&ID

Name the objects on the FLO-Sheet

Select from a variety of drawing symbols or create your own
-
Insert notes and call out boxes on the drawing
-
Create FLO-Links to the drawing
-
Allow for either Cartesian or Isometric orientation
These features allow you to share information about the system with everyone involved, providing a clearer understanding for those who might not directly be involved with the design of the system. This makes PIPE-FLO a valuable tool for the life of the system, and with PIPE-FLO Viewer, truly anyone you want can view your system without needing the full PIPE-FLO program.
