Four New Electronic Pump Catalogs Available for Download We are proud to announce that we have 4 new major pump manufacturers' catalogs available for download through the Engineered Software website -- greatly benefiting users of our PIPE-FLO programs. In the past few weeks, Bell & Gossett’s turbine pump line, Christensen Pumps, Goulds Pumps Vertical Turbine, and Red Jacket Water Product electronic pump catalogs have been uploaded to www.eng-software.com. The addition of these new manufacturers brings the total number of catalogs available to more than 90. Pump selection is a major feature of our PIPE-FLO product line and we are proud to increase the number of manufacturers available to our users. To download catalogs, visit http://www.eng-software.com/pml/default.aspx. If you still do not see a manufacturer you are looking for, please email info@pump-flo.com or call 800-786-8545. Let us know whom you would like added.
PIPE-FLO Feature of the Month Our Chief Engineer, Ray Hardee, P.E. and consultant, Mike Volk, P.E. have collaborated on a feature article published in the August 2007 issue of Power Engineering magazine. The following is an excerpt from the article. Often things are not as they first seem, especially when one is trying to determine how a pump system is operating. That’s why it is often difficult to troubleshoot a fluid piping system that is experiencing problems and to arrive at a plan to correct the trouble. The best way to identify problems within a system and to make the corrections is first to have a clear picture of how the system operates. Developing an educated guess is one option to solving system problems, but that ability comes only with years of experience. Simple trial and error may be another option. Either way one thing is certain when a piping system is required for continued operation in a power plant: system failure is not an option. Fluid piping analysis software makes it possible to simulate the operation of the total piping system. Once the computer simulation reflects the piping system’s actual operation, plant personnel can try various options on the piping system model without fear of failure. Personnel at a cogeneration plant discovered just how helpful such software could be.To read the full article “Gaining a Clear Picture of Pump Operation,” visit the Power Engineering Magazine Website.
Visit With ESI at the 2007 Chem Show Not only will Engineered Software be attending the 52nd Annual Chem Show, we have also been granted a speaking spot at this year’s Chem Show Education Conference. The an honor of presenting the White Paper, “Using a Piping System Model for Process Safety Management,” goes to our Chief Engineer, Ray Hardee P.E. Hardee will also be available during the exhibition to meet with current and prospective customers. We would like to invite any and all users of PIPE-FLO to drop by our booth and meet our Chief Engineer, Ray Hardee and Chief Technical Officer, Carolyn Popp. We appreciate meeting and hearing from our users and find your feedback valuable. The 52nd Chem Show will be held in New York City’s Javits Center from October 30 to November 1, 2007, and the presentation will be on Thursday, November 1 at 2:00 p.m. ESI will also be exhibiting our full product line at Booth 1341.
