PIPE-FLO Professional 2007 Release Update!
Version 7.1 to be Unsupported as of the 2007 Release

Previously called PIPE-FLO Professional 2006, the newest release will instead be named PIPE-FLO Professional 2007 and is slated to be available near the end of November. The features will include:
  • Isometric Grids with Smart Text

  • Bidirectional communications with Microsoft® Excel® spreadsheets

  • Copy & Paste from one PIPE-FLO system file to another

  • Create custom piping symbols with a build in Symbol Editor

  • Optimize the system quicker with the Autocalc feature

  • Change your fluid properties in your lineup

  • New integrated support for flow meters and balancing orifices

  • Enhanced graphing support for manually entered pump curves

  • And much more!

Click below to see more information on the new features in PIPE-FLO 2007:

Don’t forget, with the pending release of the PIPE-FLO 2007, all legacy versions of the software older than version 8 will no longer be supported and will lose all of their upgrade value. If you have version 7.1 and would like to upgrade to the latest version of PIPE-FLO, now is the time. In addition, versions 2004 and 8 will also lose some of their upgrade value as they get further away from the most current release of the program.
We will be providing you more details as the release date gets closer or for more information, please call us at (800) 786-8545.

Import Fisher® Control Valves into PIPE-FLO

PIPE-FLO users will soon be able to import Fisher® Control Valve's data directly from the Fisher® Specification Manager (Fisher’s valve selection tool) into their PIPE-FLO program. This will be the first of what we hope is many control valve manufacturers to make their control valve data available to PIPE-FLO users. Fisher’s software will be available shortly and we are testing to ensure that the communication between the two programs is as seamless as possible.
As part of our work with Fisher, we would like to let them know of the interest of PIPE-FLO customers in utilizing this capability. The more of our users express interest in this capability, the more leverage we have in working with Fisher to create the best interface possible.
If you would find importing Fisher Control Valve data directly in your PIPE-FLO program useful, please let us know. We will use this information to create a list to help Fisher understand our customers' desire to use their control valve data.
To add your name to the list, just send your name and company info to  fisher@eng-software.com.

PIPE-FLO Feature of the Month
Finding the Most Hydraulically Remote Loop

You can quickly determine which loop is the most hydraulically remote by running one lineup. In this lineup, take a guess at which loop is the most remote (a good guess is usually the loop furthest away from the pumps, or a loop that has a high required flow rate). Run the lineup with the FCV in this loop set to fully open. If the results do not show any FCVs with invalid results, you've found the most remote loop. If only one FCV has invalid results, that one is the most remote loop. If several FCVs have invalid results (i.e., they are acting as pumps), the easiest way to tell which one is in the most remote loop is to look at the FCV results. The FCV with the largest head gain identifies the loop that is the most remote.
