ESI and Crane Valve Enter Four-Year Agreement |
| We are proud to announce that we have reached a four-year agreement with Crane Valve North America to produce, market, sell and distribute worldwide Crane’s Technical Paper 410 The Flow of Fluids through Valves, Fittings, and Pipe and its accompanying software program Flow of Fluids Premium. | |
| As part of this agreement we will be discontinuing the sale of PIPE-FLO Lite and replacing it with the Flow of Fluids Premium program. These two programs are identical; the only difference is in the name and the packaging of the program. All projects in PIPE-FLO Lite can be opened in Flow of Fluids, so you will not lose any data. Those customers with PIPE-FLO Lite and TechNet Plus will receive Flow of Fluids Premium 2006 when it is released, just as they would have received PIPE-FLO Lite 2006 on its scheduled release. | |
| If you would like to purchase a copy of Technical Paper 410, check out our new website at www.flowoffluids.com. If you would like any additional information on our agreement with Crane Valve please give us a call at (800) 786-8545. | |

PIPE-FLO Feature of the Month |
| The system resistance curve is a plot of a piping system's total resistance over a range of flow rates. The system resistance curve can be a very useful tool to have when selecting a pump. In the construction of the system resistance curve, losses due to pipe friction, valves and fittings, and various process equipment such as strainers and filters must be considered. In addition to overcoming the flow resistance of these components, the pump head required (TDH) in an open loop system may have to be increased to account for differences in the system suction and discharge levels. Also, if the discharge pressure is different than the suction pressure, this must be taken into account as well. Using PIPE-FLO, you can quickly generate a system resistance curve and plot it, as well as export it to a file for later use in the pump selection and control valve selection modules. | |
| When creating a system resistance curve, note the following limitations: | |

FLO-MASTER Seminars |
| Our first four FLO-MASTER Seminars of the year have now come to a very successful end. We had great classes in Las Vegas, Atlanta, Houston and Detroit. Thanks to everyone who made it out to these classes. It is now time to look forward to our fall classes – and seats have already been sold in each class – so call today to save your spot! | |
| The seminars are two days, with the second day completely focused on real-world examples and hands-on use of the program. Examples will include advanced pump selection, variable frequency drive analysis, advanced controls, balancing a system, system expansion and building a system from scratch. | |
2006 FLO-MASTER Schedule: |
| To find out more about the upcoming FLO-MASTER Seminars visit http://www.eng-software.com/products/flomaster.aspx or call (800) 786-8545. The seminars qualify for 15 Professional Development Hours needed to fulfill Professional Engineers’ continuing education requirements in many states. | |
| We held our final Spring FLO-MASTER Seminar in Detroit, MI on May 11 and 12. It was a great class and the perfect way to end our spring schedule. We will be in Boise, Idaho and Delaware City, Delaware for onsite FLO-MASTER trainings this June. | |
| Our Chief Engineer Ray Hardee was in Cincinnati, OH to attend a Hydraulics Institute meeting. Ray will be available for meeting with current and prospective customers May 31st. If you are in the Cincinnati, OH area and would like to learn more about PIPE-FLO, call us at (800) 786-8545 or email us at sales@eng-software.com. | |
