Real World Examples of PIPE-FLO Saving Time and Money

Using the PIPE-FLO SDK to interact seamlessly with other applications.
The Glosten Associates is a full service consulting firm of naval architects, marine engineers and ocean engineers. The company’s design experience includes tugs, barges, research vessels, cruise vessels, passenger/car ferries, and special-purpose platform design. Their consulting and design services include hull, structural, mechanical and electrical systems design.
Kevin J. Reynolds, Senior Marine Engineer at The Glosten Associates, had used PIPE-FLO to design fluid piping systems in their vessel designs. He was familiar with the programs ability to complete complex calculations quickly, and he knew the the company could use the power of PIPE-FLO in a new product offering.
“Using the PIPE-FLO SDK let us concentrate on the problem we were trying to solve because we didn’t have to invent a tool to track water internal movements," said Reynolds. "The set-up is simple. Procedures are reliable and straightforward. PIPE-FLO is the engine, our program starts the engine," said Kevin J. Reynolds, Senior Marine Engineer at The Glosten Associates.

The seminars are two days, with the second day completely focused on real-world examples and hands-on use of the program. Examples will include advanced pump selection, variable frequency drive analysis, advanced controls, balancing a system, system expansion and building a system from scratch.

ESI Around the Globe

The end of October and the beginning of November were busy for us. We exhibited at the WEFTEC show in Washington, DC as well as the Chem Show in New York City. Both shows went well and we saw a lot of familiar faces – as well as many new ones. We also had our final FLO-MASTER Seminar in Las Vegas. In December we will be at the upcoming POWER-GEN show in Las Vegas (Booth 5924). Our Chief Engineer, Ray Hardee will be in Las Vegas and available for appointments December 7 – 9. If you are in the Las Vegas area and would like a demonstration of the PIPE-FLO program please contact Dennis Worrell at (360) 412-0702 x111 or dennis.worrell@eng-software.com.
